Born in Takoma Park, MD and raised in Upper Marlboro, MD, “Ashleigh Demi” always had a passion for media, entertainment and television. In high school, Ashley became the morning news anchor who broadcasted the school news throughout the classrooms of Largo High. While still a high school student, Ashley lived on campus and studied at Howard University during a summer semester to learn the ropes of her prospective career. After graduating from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, Ashley began her journalistic career at the Washington Post as a features reporter while initially hired as a copy aide. When she saw her first byline as Ashley D. Diggs in the nationally recognized newspaper, there was no stopping her trail to success.
In 2007, Ashley began publishing articles for the Washington Post, AFRO-American Newspapers, and Mustard Seed magazine, to name a few. In addition to seeing her name printed, the beauty usually saw her face in magazines like Black Hair Sophisticate’s and in bridal advertisements as an editorial model. Then, Ashley made appearances in television shows such as the Emmy award-winning drama HBO Netflix’s House of Cards and HBO Series Veep; and appearing in music videos like Bobby V’s “Money Over Here” and Black Alley’s “Club 27”. Subsequently, Ashley took her career to television with producing at WTTG/FOX 5 News in Washington, D.C. Later, she went to land her first job that was on-air at CBS Radio’s WNEW 99.1 as the weekend entertainment reporter. After spending time at WNEW 99.1 FM, the talented journalist, now “Ashleigh Demi” went upstairs to CBS Radio’s WPGC 95.5 FM where broadcasted the Entertainment Rundown with on-air personality Tony Redz a.k.a. Mr. 24/7 and now conduct interviews on WPGC’s online segment, PGC-TV.
This year, Ashleigh Demi was voted one of the DMV’s “Top 30 Under 30” individuals by the DMV Network. Today, the multi-talented beauty continues to write, produce segments, interview celebrities, acting and inspire others along the way.
