Social catalyst for change Attorney Mawuli Mel Davis embodies all the facets of a community leader. Founding Partner at Davis & Bozeman Law Firm in Atlanta, and known as the “liberation lawyer”, Attorney Davis uses his platform to not only work within his passion, but to shed light on social injustice in communities across the country.
Whether fighting injustice in the courtroom, or hitting the pavement being a voice for the community, Attorney Davis is willing to fight injustice wherever present. He has represented community activists engaged in protests, civil disobedience, and has been involved in the representation of public figures, entertainers, athletes, including being a member of the appeals team for former Mayor of Atlanta, Bill Campbell. Attorney Davis activist efforts include serving as co-founder of the Let Us Make Man movement, and was one of the primary organizers for the march of over 5,000 protestors from the Atlanta University Center to the CNN Center after the acquittal of George Zimmerman. His organizing efforts have ranged from working with gang members in Chicago to participating in the United Nations World Conference Against Racism in South Africa.
The tremendous work done in and outside the courtroom have earned Attorney Davis notable recognition; he is the recipient of several esteemed awards, some include: Social Innovator Award by Sistas Inspiring Sistas, Civil Rights Legal Champion by the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, the Advocate of the Year by the ACLU of Georgia, and the Humanitarian of the Year by both the Atlanta Chapter of the NAACP and Kappa Alpha Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma, to name a few.

Attorney Davis along with his wife, educator and activist, Jana Johnson-Davis, also developed "If You Can See it, You Can Be It", an engaging teaching module for attorneys to introduce the legal profession to middle school students. Attorney Davis is the Immediate Past President of the DeKalb Lawyers Association (DLA) and the "Mawuli Davis Legal Warrior Award" was named in his honor by DLA which is awarded to attorneys who have demonstrated courage and tenacity in their legal representation.
